Critical Race Theory Threatens the Constitution (I)

The . . . charge that whites are guilty [for] who they are perfectly mirrors the totalitarian logic of twentieth-century ideologies such as Communism and Nazism. It entails the victory of hate over love, civic responsibility, and self-respect.
— Daniel J. Mahoney, Real Clear Foundation
anytime anyone anywhere announces that he has a master plan to reorder society and . . . “reset” it by creating larger government, more rules, and an elite hierarchy to oversee compliance for the recalcitrant, then run.
— Victor Davis Hanson, American Greatness
Barack Obama, as we have shown here, and here, and here, is our de facto president. When Obama speaks, it behooves us to listen.
Now Obama tells us that conservatives shouldn’t fight over Critical Race Theory (CRT) because there are more pressing issues than institutions promoting anti-white racism:
You would think, with all the public policy debates that are taking place right now, that the Republican Party would be engaged in a significant debate about ‘how are we going to deal with the economy’ or ‘what are we going to do about climate change,’ what are we going to do about – lo and behold, the single most important issue to them, apparently, right now is critical race theory. Who knew that that was the threat to our Republic. [emphasis added]
The media is echoing Obama’s deflection away from CRT. See The Washington Post, The New Yorker, Slate, The Atlantic, and The New York Times, where columnist Charles Blow asserted, “Critical race theory is the political right’s new boogeyman. . . even though it is beyond dispute that some evil people designed the architecture of racial oppression [with] still some who help maintain it.”
“Some” is Blow’s word to Obama-like deflect us away from CRT’s direct assault on American core values.
Those not of the progressive Left recognize state-sponsored racism has no place in America. It’s wrong to teach — as does CRT — that "one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex," that "an individual, by virtue of the individual's race or sex, is inherently privileged, racist, sexist or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously," or to ascribe “character traits, values, moral or ethical codes, privileges or beliefs to a race or sex or to an individual because of the individual's race or sex.”
Wrong it may be. But. . .
CRT defines itself in opposition to traditional civil rights not simply as a “Theory,” but also as movement of activists who seek to transform society. CRT policies and practices push terms like “Equity,” “Anti-Racism,” “Cultural Competence,” “Culturally Responsive Education,” “Restorative Justice,” “Ethnic Studies,” “Equitable Math,” “Whiteness,” while consulting groups spend tens of thousands for training built around “implicit bias,” “white privilege,” and “action civics.”
Ryan Girdusky, an opponent of CRT and the New York Times’ “1619 Project,” describes CRT’s three core beliefs: [1] racism is a widespread everyday experience of non-whites, [2] it benefits whites regardless of their socio-economic standing, and [3] is a social construction to advance the interests of whites.
The “godfather” of CRT, Derrick Bell, was a Harvard Law professor during Obama’s time there. Bell wrote a book in 1992 to market CRT to a wider audience. Faces at the Bottom of the Well’s subtitle, “The Permanence of Racism,” summed up Bell’s pessimistic thesis. He wrote that white Americans will only act in the interests of blacks if it also serves their own interest. When the interests of whites and blacks clash, whites will always put white interest first.
Bell argued that the struggle for racial equality is worthwhile even though it will never succeed. While he recognized the “futility of action,” Bell insisted “action must be taken.”
Bell condemned blacks to permanent victim status. This is an honest twist on Communism’s goal of “to each according to his needs.” Like perfect redistribution of wealth, overcoming black victimhood is a struggle that will never end. Bell-educated progressive masters — this “vanguard of the people of color” — will be the updated version of Lenin’s “vanguard of the proletariat” that must rule forever, since total racial equity is unreachable.
