Cable News: FOX Dominates Afghan Disaster Coverage

Image
FOX sweeps; all five of the top cable news shows are on FOX. Hannity is out front, even though the most popular non-FOX cable news show, Rachel Maddow, is up against him at the same time, along with the top CNN show, Chris Cuomo. Hannity beats both of them combined! The other top FOX shows all handily beat both MSNBC plus CNN in their time slots. Brett Baier makes the top five for the first time. It seems the usual MSNBC and CNN audiences weren't as interested as FOX viewers in the Afghan chaos President Biden delivered the world. Joe Biden: Broken Puppet in the White House

Image
Obama with Rice in Oval Office (2015) “the long-term lesson of Afghanistan: the people who lead this country aren’t fit for the task.” — J.D. Vance , Hillbilly Elegy author; Ohio GOP Senate candidate Franklin Roosevelt reportedly said  of Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza, “but he’s our son of a bitch.” While the “SOBs” often fail to pull through for us — Cuba, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq —  at least that happens over there, and America can try moving on. But now, the puppet “SOB” is our President. Unlike assassinated John Kennedy, Barack Obama left the White House alive, a fit 55, a key to maintaining Democrats’ grip on power. Hillary Clinton, his pliant former Secretary of State, was positioned to prolong Obama’s influence, but her secret basement server hiding shady Clinton Foundation finances helped elect Trump instead. Obama needed another puppet. Obama is the power behind  Biden. And Obama’s fingerprints are on the Afghanistan disaster (however much Obama polit...

Darkness in Summer Heat: Afghanistan; Berlin.

Image
Berlin: August 13, 1961 Biden vacations  as Afghanistan goes Taliban. U.S. troops fly back in to evacuate our Kabul embassy.  August 13. I recall another August 13, 60 years ago. On that morning, as described in Richard Reeves’ biography President Kennedy , John and Jackie Kennedy left 10:00 mass early in Hyannis Port because of the heat, changed into lighter clothes and set sail on father Joe’s yacht the Marlin for Great Island and lunch with friends. Fifteen minutes out, Kennedy was called back to shore with the news that East German paramilitary police had laid barbed wire across the once-open border with West Berlin, preparatory to constructing a wall. Vacation time. Leaders with their minds elsewhere. By the time Kennedy finally received the news, Berlin had already been cut in two for eight hours. It took 28 years for the Berlin Wall to come down. We have no idea how long the darkness falling over Afghanistan’s 38 million people will last, how long until that nation wil...

Does UN’s Latest Climate Change Warning Frighten You?

Image
Yangtze River plastic   Bjorn Lomborg is a “climate-change-alarmist” skeptic. Nevertheless, he calls the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s latest report “actually serious and sensible. It doesn’t surprise, [reconfirming] that global warming indeed is real and a problem.” Lomborg, however, also credits the report for: saying “the frequency and intensity of cold extremes have decreased,” which matters because “many more people die from cold than from heat,” and the difference means “climate change  saves  166,000 lives each year.” finding “low confidence” in the human influence on global high river flows; “low confidence” that floods are caused by climate change. mentioning climate upsides such as more CO₂, which acts as a fertilizer in the atmosphere generating “profound” global greening. Skeptic Lomborg notes the UN report only deals with the physical impact of climate change, avoiding the human response. Why convert rising sea levels into a c...

Outside the Bubble: The People Speak

Image
Do you believe in the bubble, that the elite including their media are in one place, not realizing the people outside think differently? If you do, here are facts to back you up. Only 51% of voters approve of President Biden’s performance in office. This is the RealClearPolitics average of most recent polls. In the much-respected latest Gallup poll , Biden is at 50% approval and 45% disapproval — down from 57% approval and 37% disapproval at the start of his term. Worse, Biden has a big problem with independents. The Gallup poll has him dropping from 61% at the beginning of his presidency to 48%, for the first time at “less-than-majority approval.” Also bad for the President: an ABC News/Ipsos poll says that among independents Biden's approval for handling the economy is below 50%. For the issues of immigration, crime, and gun violence, it is in the 30s . But worst of all for Biden, says  the Washington Examiner’s Byron York, is Gallup’s answer to: "Thinking about the next...
